Description: We start our tour by visiting several indigenous villages and handicraft workshops. After lunch you will have some free time to explore the famous market in Otavalo, before heading to the village where you will have dinner with your host family and spend the night. After a good night´s sleep (2), we go to Lake Cuicocha and hike around its perimeter. After lunch in Cotacachi, you will have some free time to explore the town and its many leather shops, before we will take you to your host family. On the third day we do a horse riding tour through the Andean countryside and indigenous villages. Later on you will have time to rest or help your host family with their daily activities. The following day (4) we head to Lake Mojanda for our climb of Fuya-Fuya Mountain (4.265m, 14.000ft). You will spend the rest of the day with your host family, taking part in their daily activities and having dinner with them. The next morning (5), after breakfast and some optional morning activities, it is time to say goodbye to your host family and your return.

Day 1
- 9am: Tour start at Runa Tupari office in Otavalo
- 10am: Visit of San Rafael community with workshop of handicrafts made of totora reedgrass
- 11am: Visit of Peguche Waterfall and a workshop of music instruments
- 1pm: lunch in Otavalo
- 2pm: free time to explore the Otavalo handicraft market
- 3pm: visit of a weaver´s workshop in the indigenous community of Carabuela
- 4pm: transfer to indigenous host family, free afternoon to participate in everyday activities of host family
- 7pm: dinner with host family
Day 2
- 7am: breakfast with host family
- 7:30: drive to Cuicocha Lake (~30min)
- 8am: start hiking around the crater rim of Lake Cuicocha (~4 hours)
- 1pm: drive to Cotacachi, lunch and free time to explore the city and its famous leather shops
- 3pm: drive to homestay accommodation, free afternoon to participate in everyday activities of host family
- 7pm: dinner with host family
Day 3
- 8am: breakfast with host family
- 8:30am: transfer to indigenous community La Calera
- 9am: horse riding (~3hours) in the countryside around the community La Calera
- 1pm: lunch with host family
- 2pm: free afternoon to relax or to participate in daily activities of host family
- 7pm: dinner with host family
Day 4
- 7am: breakfast with host family
- 7:30am: drive to Mojanda Lake (~45min)
- 8:15am: climb of Fuya Fuya mountain (~2 hours), rest at the top
- 11am: descend back to Lake Mojanda (~90min), drive to Otavalo
- 1pm: lunch in Otavalo
- 2pm: transfer to homestay accommodation, free afternoon to participate in everyday activities of host family
- 7pm: dinner with host family
day 5
~7:30am: breakfast with host family, free time with host family
~10am: return to Otavalo, end of tour
