Description: Around midday we drive to the village of Casha Pampa at an altitude of 3.300m (10.800ft). There, we will start our hike (2-3 hours) through an area of páramo grasslands with spectacular views of the city of Ibarra and snow-covered Cayambe. Once we get to our campsite we enjoy the sunset, and after dinner we will rest for the next day when we climb (3 hours) the last part and walk around the crater until we reach the top at 4.610m (15.125ft). After a rest we start descending (3-4 hours) and finally head back to Otavalo for a well-deserved lunch.
