Description: We go with private transport to the entrance of the Cotacachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve (RECC), where the walk begins (4-5 hours), at a height between 3,100-3,500m, savoring the biodiversity of the area, the view of the crystalline waters of the lake and the islets formed in its center, as well as the panorama of the Cotacachi, Imbabura and Cayambe volcanoes. We will finish the tour with a delicious lunch.

Total duration: ~7 hours
- 07:30 - Meet at Runa Tupari's office in Otavalo (you can also be picked up from your hotel in Otavalo), drive to Lake Cuicocha (~40 min)
- 08:15 - Start the walk around the rim of the crater of Lake Cuicocha (~4 hours) with several stops along the way
- 13:00 - Drive to Cotacachi, lunch and free time to explore the city and its famous leather shops
- 15:00 - Return to Otavalo and end of the tour
