Description
Travel by private transportation to an indigenous community, where your 5-hour horseback riding adventure begins. Ride through beautiful native forests, scenic trails, and peaceful Andean landscapes with breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains. Along the way, you’ll experience the tranquility of nature, discover the surrounding countryside, and gain insight into the daily life and traditions of the local communities. At the end of the ride, return to the community before heading back to town by private transportation.
Difficulty: Easy – Moderate
Total Duration: Approximately 4 hours.
Note: There is also a 5-hour horse riding (LCT-5a), where we additionally visit Lake Cuicocha.
– 9am: start** at meeting point Runa Tupari office in Otavalo (pick-up from hotel in Otavalo is possible), drive to La Calera (~30min)
– 9:30am: horse riding (~3hours) in the countryside around the community La Calera
– 1pm: return to Otavalo, end of tour

** This tour can also be done in the afternoon (start 2pm, return Otavalo 6pm)
