Description: Before sunrise we will head to an area close to Lake Cuicocha to see the morning activity of some high altitude birds. Then we continue to the village of Azabi where we hike (~4 hours) through a cloud forest to see different species of hummingbirds, tanagers and manakins, amongst others. After lunch we continue our trip through the Intag Valley, seeing some types of flycatchers, birds of prey, toucans and others along the way. In the afternoon we will go to a place where the famous cock-of-the-rock can be seen, and a cave where we see the nocturnal oilbirds. We will stay the night in the village of Magdalena, and the next day (2) return to Otavalo, with various stops along the way to see more birds.
