Summary

 

Description: We will go with private transport to the village of Sacha Pampa and hike (5 hours) with our mules until we get to our first camp site near the mountain Yana-Urco. At night we will enjoy the silence under the stars and rest well for the next day (2) when we will hike (4 hours) to get to the village of Piñán to have lunch and see the traditional houses. After some rest we will keep going (2 hours) until we get to Piñán Lake, famous amongst sport fishers, and we will set up camp there. On day 3 we descend from the high altitude páramo and hike through a cloud forest until we get to the village of El Rosario in the Intag region. From there we will go with private transport to the hot springs of Nangulvi (optional) and finally return to Otavalo.

Note: We also offer a 4-day version of this tour (SNP-7a), staying the third night in the village of Cuellaje, and going by bike to Nangulvi on day 4.

Mandatory: clothes and personal things for three days, good walking shoes, sun protection, fleece/warm layer, water (min. 2 litres), rain coat, some fitness, acclimatization to altitude
